Making with Older Adults

About

We are working with older adults (65+) to help them to incorporate maker electronics into objects they have crafted. We are building on what we learned in the Health Sense project with children by focusing on creating an electronic toolkit which can leverage people’s familiarity with crafting practices. The goal of the project is to help older adults to create their own electronic devices while using the skills they already have from a craft or hobby. This includes developing a methodology to help them pickup the skills they need to work with an electronic toolkit quickly.

Current Studies

We are in the process of developing the electronic toolkit and will soon be looking for participants to test it.
